Remodeling Teeth with Cosmetic Contouring
When your teeth are a bit jagged, rough around the edges, pointy, or otherwise marred, cosmetic tooth contouring may be able to help. The process involves gently reshaping one or more teeth so that they better blend with your smile’s natural contour. Using local anesthesia, we can numb your tooth before the procedure to minimize discomfort, and the minor cosmetic treatment can be performed in a single visit.
What Can I Expect?
Dr. Hakimzadeh, Dr. Reyhani, and our team will examine your teeth and take digital X-rays for a thorough view of your tooth’s structure. Because we will remove part of your tooth, we must carefully map out which portion of the tooth is safe to remove. Our goal is always to maintain the integrity of your natural teeth and your overall oral health while simultaneously improving your smile’s appearance.
Am I a Good Candidate?
If you have minor issues with the shape or alignment of your teeth that we can address by removing a portion of one or more teeth, speak with us about tooth contouring. However, if your teeth require additional structure to fix the concern, such as a gap, you may consider teeth bonding, which is an additive process. Or, speak with us about orthodontic treatments, such as Invisalign®, if you suffer from moderate alignment problems.
